At our Public Relations committee meeting, Rachael Gadd shared some exciting news that our Facebook and Instagram accounts are experiencing exponential growth in both connections and readership!
We also have a LinkedIn account, and Rachael is now looking for a Change Maker to help out and take over the ongoing management of these social media channels. If you enjoy engaging with our community, sharing Rotary stories, and helping our online presence continue to grow, this could be a great opportunity to contribute. If you can help, please contact Rachael at
dihalyna@gmail.com. You also will be invited to join the Public Relations committee and we meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm, but note that due to a horse race (Melbourne Cup), there won’t be a November meeting because of the public holiday in Victoria.
2027 Youth Exchange - Lucy Wilkinson - Update
During our fortnightly meeting, there will be an update on our outgoing Youth Exchange Student, Lucy Wilkinson. Our Youth Exchange coordinator Kathy Croughan has informed me that Lucy’s placement for 2027 will be in Germany, specifically in the Cologne region of western Germany.
This is an exciting time for our club as Lucy will be our first exchange student for some years now and we look forward to hearing about Lucy’s adventures in Germany when she leaves in January next year.
Fundraisers - Update
We have a couple of fund raisers in progress, and we’d love your support to help make a real difference in our community:
1) Mooroopna Community Raffle – Safe Haven Medical Outreach
Please support the RC of Mooroopna Community Raffle where $3 out of every ticket sold will be donated to Kate Arkwright’s Safe Haven Medical Outreach project. Every ticket helps us move closer to providing vital support where it’s needed most.
2) Beechworth Street Stall – Donations Needed (December 5, 2026)
On the 5th of December 2026, we will be running the annual Beechworth Street Stall. Kathryn would like to see donations of cakes, biscuits, preserves, plants and flowers. If you’re able to contribute any of these items, it will make a big difference to the success of the stall and the impact we can create. Contact Kathryn at
chiverskathryn@gmail.com if you can help on the day or provide donated goods.
3) Lucky Numbers Fund Raiser – AusPak Welfare Society
We’re also half way through the Lucky Numbers fund raiser. The profit from this initiative will be donated to Makhdoom Bhatti’s AusPak Welfare Society.
